Details:
Total Strangers formed in 1992 in Houston, Texas and played in and around Houston for several years before splitting in the mid 1990s. During their time together Total Strangers wrote several original songs and even recorded many of the tracks for an album. Unfortunately the album failed to capture the sound of the band and was never completed. Although there are cassette and DAT tapes of the recordings, through various moves and lost years, the original master tapes no longer exist. However, the wealth of original material remained “in the vault”. Then in 2008, through the magic of Facebook, the band reconnected and decided to virtually, since John had moved to Arkansas, regroup and attempt to re-record the album. So multiple copies of Pro Tools were purchased, drop box accounts set up, and activity commenced with Steve anchoring the recording at his Bundrick and Sons recording studio. The base tracks were recorded for each song as a song required and then various parts were added to the songs so that they were built up over time as files and ideas were passed through the ethernet. The resulting album is "Lost in a Crowd". An album made in the classic sense of rock albums that draws from several musical influences and has a lyrical concept running throughout the work. Although there are several stand-out tracks on the album, the album can be absorbed as a complete work.
