Kevin Lanes was born and raised in the small country town of Culpeper, Va. The middle (3rd) of 5 kids, he began singing in the church choir at the age of five." Lion King was my favorite movie and I remember when I started school, I was on the bus and I was just singing one of the songs from the movie and the next thing I knew, everyone on the school bus was crowded around me. Some of the older kids started telling me that I should be a musician when I grew up. I didnt even know what a musician was but I went home and asked my grandmother who told me it was someone who created/performed music. When I went to fourth grade I also went to a new school and it was the first time I was ever able to join a school choir. From that moment on I have always been singing in some type of choir or group". Kevin was always a director favorite and often chosen to perform solos. When he was about 12 years of age he moved to the Washington DC area and continued singing in choirs as well as several groups, gospel and r&b before pursuing solo ambitions. His smooth and soulful vocals have captivated many, allowing him the opportunity to sing in several school and community talent shows, retirement homes, and sport events as well as being the headlining performer at a local fashion show. "I thank God for the gifts he has given me and hope to use them to create great music not only to entertain, but to inspire and touch peoples lives the way that music has touched mine and also make some positive changes in the world".
