Joseph Lucas Ramos, also known as Maestro Joseph started his musical career at the age of 8 years of age, and graduated as a concert-pianist at the age of 23. At which age he also graduated from music composition. From the age of 12-years- old he started to compose and at 14 earned a living as an arranger, orchestrating for some of the most important orchestras from Havana, Cuba, where after gaining popular acceptance for the quality of his work as an arranger of classical as much as popular music was acclaimed as well by reknown musical groups, by the end of the 60''s. In addition, he participated in the rock movement as part of groups which developed this kind of music in his country. Simultaneously, he developed an interest in jazz and came into contact with the best exponents of this genre, in which he also participated.

As composer, his creation has been in a variety of genres which range from pop songs to contemporary symphonic music, however the nationalist character which can be felt in each one of his compositions constitute his personal seal. Maestro Joseph, also has participated in music teaching and up to this date musical teaching is considered a very important part of his life.

His music as well as his artistic interventions have been and will always be available to contribute to the cultural development everywhere around the world. He has been recognized for his participation to benefit natural disaster victims and in support of the rights of oppressed people. His motto is: "Music is the soul of the people" (from the idea book of Cuban poet Jose Marti)
