"I think a lot, and I feel a lot. I wouldn’t say I wear my heart on my sleeves in day-to-day conversation, but I certainly expose the depths of my heart and a greater vulnerability in my songs! I better express what I’m thinking and feeling through words on a page than in person.
Essentially, my songs are mere melodies matched with poetic language of the confessions you would find within the binding of my journal. Whatever the ebbing and flowing tide of life brings- struggle, loneliness, uncertainty, joy- I long to tell the story of that experience through song.
I pray that those who listen might find sympathy, love, truth and hope in whatever season of life they find themselves in. But I have resolved, that if no one in the world ever hears the words in the pages of my notebook, or if the melodies from my piano never leave the four walls of my room, they will first and foremost be love offerings to my Father in heaven, songs of ascent to my Maker, and sweet adoration to my King, in the language of music.
I write out of the overflow of a thankful heart, praising the One true and living God who put breath in my lungs, saved me by His love and mercy from the grips of death and gave me the ability to make music! My desire is that the words on my tongue, the meditation of my heart, the acts of my hands and the melodies I sing, reflect this glorious Savior!"
