Jobo Shakins is a loose trio with room for a few more. The main line up consists of Russell Gores (on percussion, spoons, double bass, guitar, and saw), Lucas Warford (on bass banjo, guitar, toy piano, kazoo, and foot percussion), and the inimitable Josie Wallace (on lead vocals, tap dancing, and madness). We play songs from the 20''s and 30''s. songs that sound like they should be from the 20''s and 30''s, and songs that don''t sound like they belong anywhere.
We like to think our music would be inappropriate no matter what temporal setting we might find ourselves in.
It''s barrel house jazz from an alternate universe, Psycho-Timey retro swing from a post-apocalyptic future,
or just an amazing vocalist yelling into a megaphone, a demented bass banjo player, and a drummer.
