My name is Manuel E. colon, but most people call me Manny. In this, my first production you will be listening to what we call “romantic salsa”. This genre of music is very danceable with a lot of rhythm, swing and passion. The messages and lyrics are of love and sometimes of heartbreak. When you hear it, you file it, and you won’t be able to stay seated. Director Felipe De Jesus and I have brought together the very best musicians to bring you a “flavor” and “swing” that is loved by a dancer. It is very easy to relate to the words and messages since we have all loved and lived through heartbreak at times.
My passion has always been music and being able to sing. Since I was a small child in Vega Baja, Puerto Trio, I would sing to anyone that would listen. I started my career with a trio named Los Atenienses where I also played second guitar. I have been with various groups including Boricuason and Sonora Los Fantasticos. In my travels I have played in many different cities small and large including Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Puerto Rico. I have participated in many events, functions, banquets and community festivals. I also participated in a very popular television program in Philadelphia, PA named “Puertorican Pano-rama”. I have also been featured in local television programs and radio stations in Reading, Lancaster, Allentown Bethlehem and Philadelphia. One of my most recent presentations took place in the Bethlehem Musikfest, which was a great success and well received by all.
With my heart and soul I give to you my first production and hope that you will enjoy it…
