Hi, my name is Sarah Rohan Maugaotega, and I was born on May 26, 1996 at 6:26 pm and I weighed 6.6 lbs.
My mom is from Rhode Island and my dad is from American Samoa, so I am ½ Samoan and the other ½ is not. I am the only child of these two amazing and devoted parents. My dad loves Bob Marley and listens to him all the time. I learned the words to all his songs when I was very young as I would sing along with my dad. My mom likes all kinds of music and used to play a variety of artists so I could hear and appreciate all types of music.
I amazed my pediatrician when at 18 months old I sang the entire “Itsy Bitsy Spider” song in the waiting room and everyone clapped. And when I was 4 years I got up on the platform where they put the store dummies at Macy’s and sang “Santa Claus is coming to town”. Again I received applause and compliments from the Christmas shoppers.
I was a featured soloist in the Blessed Sacrament School Choir from grades 2-6. I also competed in and won many Hawaiian Tropics Beauty Pagents, always winning in the Talent and Best Hair competions.
In 2005, I appeared in the movie “ Magnificent Desolation” which was shown in IMAX theatres around the country. It’s about the 12 astronauts that have walked on the moon. I also appeared in Alanis Morrisette’s music video “ 8 easy steps” I was the young Alanis. And I appeared on an episode of “Huff” on Showtime.
I have been active in musical theatre since I was in the 3rd grade, appearing in many musicals, Oliver, Cinderella and Once Upon a Mattress, and of course many productions of Annie.
I attend the Orange County High School of the Arts in Santa Ana, California, which is one the top 3 high schools in Orange County. I am in the music & theatre conservatory.
