Details:
When we first got news of the tragedy in Japan from the USGS alert, we were shocked at the magnitude of the earthquake. We knew that there was the possibility of widespread damage, and many people’s lives would be changed forever. As the news coverage increased and revealed the true extent of the damage, it became apparent that recovery efforts would take months if not years. We’re musicians, so we responded the best way we could, - creating music for this time of realization and recovery – composing and producing music to reflect the mood of a nation.

The concept behind “For Japan” was developed with the knowledge that the recovery efforts in Japan will occur over an extended period of time. Our thought was to produce a short video which illustrates the harsh conditions immediately following the earthquake and tsunami, as well as the relief efforts that sprung quickly into action. (The video can be viewed on YouTube at https://www.tradebit.com People can donate whatever they can afford to give to the relief efforts through established relief organizations (for example, https://www.tradebit.com) or participate in one of the many fund raising efforts in their own community. The quartet decided that we would make the audio track available for purchase for $1.34 on CD Baby, and donate our full share ($1.00 for each download) to the relief efforts in Japan. It’s the best way we know to participate, and hopefully make a difference in the pain and suffering of the Japanese people.
