Following a successful 2010, Menis releases his first track for 2011 - ''Look at me now''.

The track celebrates the progress this young artist has made during his journey to fulfilling his musical dreams. He hopes to inspire and drive others through his story of overcoming disappointment and criticism through passion, hard work and determination.

Talking about the track Menis says: "I wrote ''Look at me now'' because I have accomplished quite a lot, even though people didn''t believe in my dream, I''ve made it a reality. It''s about overcoming obstacles and being determined to make your dreams come true."

On this song we see another side of Menis'' lyrical and vocal talent. Known for his eclectic and experiential sound, with energy and undertones of humor, ''Look at me now'' isn’t what people may expect and is an impactful, emotion-fueled performance.

From music to image, Menis has paved his own way. Starting off in bedroom studios and performing at local youth clubs and pirate radio stations, this talented artist has gone on to independently release a number of tracks, has performed across the country, worked with well known producers, presented his own radio show on Desi Hits, launched a popular range of clothing after his 2009 track ''Kool 2 B Asian'' and is currently endorsed by Trikki Clothing and Fat Kyds fashion brands.

We last heard from Menis last year when he released the electro beat song ''Where''s my money'' featuring Jai Amore. Hot off the release Menis was chosen to perform on the first day of BBC Radio 1''s Big Weekend 2010 in Bangor, which had an attendance of 20,000 music fans.

Menis has a lot more performances, music and fashion planned for 2011, starting off with the release of ''Look at me now''. The single is set to release on iTunes in the next few weeks and there will be a special second version of the track featuring RnB artist Sef.

About Menis

Quirky lyrics and eccentric beats are his tools for self-expression. Political, personal or just plain fun, this young eclectic artist delivers his thoughts over a diverse concoction of Hip-hop beats, Indie-Rock riffs and Electro sounds. Amongst the diversity of his London surroundings, Menis has managed to create his own unique style and stand out.

Menis began writing lyrics over beats as a young teen and something that started off as just a bit of a fun, turned into an obsession. Realising his potential and encouraged by friends, he started performing at local youth clubs, gigs, pirate radio stations and entering and dominating MC battles. His fresh approach, clever use of words and confidence soon gained him recognition on the Urban scene and inevitably his music created a buzz in the Asian scene.

Taking on feedback and responding to demand, Menis combined his Urban and Asian influences and teamed up with producer Nazza-T to create new, outlandish and bold music that they presented on the album - ‘Spot the difference’ in 2005. The debut track ‘Sshh’ further propelled him in the music scene, gaining recognition and accolades from industry members such as Bobby Friction and Nihal of BBC Radio 1 and BBC Asian Network. Impressing people with his fresh burst of lyricism, the tongue-and-cheek track went on to ride the airwaves of Galaxy, Kiss FM, BBC 1Xtra and Choice FM as well as many Asian radio stations and TV channels across the UK. In 2006 Menis went on to gain three UK Asian Music Award nominations for Best Single, Best MC and Best Newcomer.

Over the last few years Menis has been busy sharing his talents, featuring on music from producers like Mentor and Kami K. Most comfortable when on stage, Menis has been seen and heard at festivals across the UK, supporting BBC Asian Network mela’s and Uni tours as well as performing at the renowned City Showcase alongside established Asian artists like Jay Sean, Rishi Rich and Sona Relle.

After a break from music making, Menis released ‘Kool 2 B Asian’ which was a huge summer hit in 2009. Taking the tagline further, he launched a range of ‘Kool 2 B Asian’ t-shirts and hoodies with apparel company Desi Rags. Getting noticed for both his musical and fashion style has led to Menis being endorsed by Urban brands Fat Kyds and Trikki Clothing.

Last year, Menis went down the electro route and released ‘Where’s my money’ which was greatly received for its creativity and honesty. Breaking barriers and taking his career to another level, Menis was chosen to perform at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2010 in Bangor on the BBC Introducing stage. He has also been nominated for a UK Asian Music Award 2011 for Best Urban act.

Nurturing his talent and striving to learn and build upon his creativity, Menis wears several hats - lyricist, musical director, MC, presenter, DJ and designer. Not only limiting himself to making music, Menis presented a weekly radio show called Brown Boi on Desi Hits, presents video interviews, makes TV appearances and designs clothing.

Refusing to be limited to one genre – Menis presents his take on Electro Pop, Hip Hop and Indie-rock with flair!
