TURN IT UP was inspired by rock critic Lester Bangs, who used to go to friends houses and check out their record collection. He would seek out the album WHITE LIGHT/WHITE HEAT by The Velvet Underground, and check out the grooves to see how much it had been played. Most of the time he would find pristine grooves on a record that was only only played once, and usually not to the end of side one, let alone flipped. That''s was his Bull---t detector. He loved WHITE LIGHT/WHITE HEAT and called it the greatest lease breaker in the history of music (or something like that).
So we wanted to make a new leasebreaker and came up with this feedback driven dirge. It''s got good loud bass, a when the levee breaks drum track and a whole bunch of squealing guitars. Lester, this is for you... and it''s also for every jerkoff landlord in the entire world! PLAY IT LOUD!
