My journey writing Christian music began back in January of 2009, when I was led to write "Don''t Cry For Me" for a grieving widow who had lost her husband of 57 years. I had previously lost both my brother, Mark, and my best friend, Mitzi, to cancer. I became inspired to continue writing when after some airplay on a local Christian radio station, people began to contact me to tell me how much this song meant to them. I heard sentiments like "This song made me cry with happy tears", "I have been unable to grieve until now, but your song has allowed me to cry with "healing tears", "I felt like my mother was speaking directly to me", "Those are the exact words he would have said to me", "I listen to this song every night before I go to bed", "This song has special meaning for me". It became apparent that I was meant to write this song to give comfort to those who are grieving from the loss of a loved one. I thank God for choosing me to relay this special message of hope and assurance. I thank Bobby Kennedy for his heartfelt vocal performance.
