Born in Santiago, Chile and raised in Traverse City, Michigan, Amy Baumann grew up singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. She went on to continue her musical studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. During her tenure with the Manhattan School of Music, Amy performed in Henry Purcell’s opera, Dido and Aeneas, as the Second Witch. Amy had additional training at Cento Studi Lirica; where she lived and performed throughout the country of Italy. Amy is currently living and auditioning in the heartbeat of the musical industry, New York City.
Over the last year, Amy’s musical talents have been devoted to the production of her debut CD, Faces. This CD displays an eclectic mix of covered songs, which encompass a wide variety of musical genres. For inquiries about Faces or to purchase a CD, email FacesCD@https://www.tradebit.com. In addition to working on her CD, Amy has been singing professionally at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in New York City.
Amy loves coming back to perform in her hometown, Traverse City. In 2010, she was one of the lead performers in A Celebration of the Arts, a benefit concert for the Women’s Cancer Fund. Amy was also one of the leads in 2009 in A Musical Kaleidoscope which was another benefit concert for the Women’s Cancer Fund. In 2008, Amy was the alto soloist in Mel Larimer’s Concert Series, Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Boccherini’s Gloria, presented at The First Congregational Church. In addition, Amy was an original member of Miracle Productions, where she was cast as Robin in Godspell, and the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Amy is a 2004 graduate of Traverse City West Senior High School. She was a finalist for three consecutive years in the Verdi Italian Songs and Arias Vocal Competitions where she took first place in 2002, and second in 2004. During her high school years, Amy was cast as Zora in Ruddigore, Fantine in Les Miserables, and Anita in West Side Story.
