What Army''s sound is dark and raging, yet melodic. Their guitar tone is thick and heavy, underlaid with a foundation of clear, clean bass. The drum style is simple but driving and hard, even in the ballads. Over all this floats the dynamic vocals, fronted by Cat Fury, who can turn from a whisper to a scream in the space of a syllable. Backup vocals are almost a rhythm instrument in this band, punctuating the crescendos and accenting choruses. The whole sound blends into something strange yet catchy.
