A life-long resident of Houston, TX, SYPHA grew up like many during that time, heavily influenced by rap/hip-hop music. His life story probably reads like any other rapper’s you hear about; broken home, bad neighborhoods, drugs, etc. He eventually got tired of it all and joined the Army where if nothing else, he gained a tireless work ethic and “never quit” attitude. While his frequent moves in the military prolonged his dream of making music, it also helped develop his sound by exposing him to a variety of people, places, and musical styles. His has been described as a combination of the legendary Tupac and Scarface; without trying to be either of the two. He has a distinct and confident delivery and isn’t afraid to be creative. His ability to be thought-provoking without preaching, to be creative but still in touch, to relate to so many without following the current “formula” is what makes his music captivating and appealing. But he’ll let you be the judge of that.
