Joel’s musical ability at an early age from playing piano by ear, and then learning how to read music landed him a major record contract with United Artist Records song titled, “It Was the Right Time”. This song modestly gained the respect of record executives, and fans worldwide proving that he was a real contender in the music business. Having to grow up fast in the music business, Joel decided to step away from recording, and concentrate on developing his musical craft becoming vice president Of Empire Music Organization in New York City. In the musical circle Joel became close friends of the legendary producer, James Anthony Carmichael whom mentored him, and opened doors for Joel. When you think of hit records the producer that was behind names like, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Atlantic Starr and many others are credited. James Anthony Carmichael has passed away and I credit him with my success, as well as the late John Henry Hammond II who was a record producer, musician and music critic. Joel flew to Los Angeles, California at the request of James Carmichael who attempted to get a recording of Joel on Motown Records song titled: “She’s Sleek She’s Fine”. This never transpired because Steve Buckley head of the A&R department was leaving Motown, and other corporate transition stages within https://www.tradebit.com dream of becoming a Motown artist did not happened, but the song was released independently, and once again impressive numbers in sales gained the respect of fans worldwide.
In, 2010 “The Black Pinoy Project” featuring artist Joel Crafton, known as Black Pinoy for he is working on his new cd that will feature other celebrity artist. Joel is a member of "The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers."
