2006, Cold autumn night:
Vixo and die Zlaskhinx guitarist Ms. Foster drinks some red wine. Thoughts about a band comes up. They call up die Zlaskhinx drummer Fishy asking if he wants to join. Said and done. A trio with no name is founded. Later, a single named ”Letter in the Morgue” is being recorded under the band name ”Kuvösbarn” (Children of the Incubator). The single sells so fast that the band don’t even find the time to burn the cd’s. A music video to the song ”Letter in the morgue” is being made. The band decides to continue and write some more songs.
2007, Freezing Finnish Winter:
The eight-song EP ”A Date With the Crow” is being recorded under the name ParadoXX. Now with two new guitarists: Joel and Liz de licour, as Ms. Foster decided to skip the guitar and only do the vocals. The record is released in 500 copies in April, and is sold out. The band is starting to get some real gigs and underground attention. The whole summer and autumn of 2007 is more or less booked with gigs in Southern Finland and Ostrobothnia.
2008, Another freezing winter
The four-song EP ”Dame of Hearts” is being recorded and released. A music video is also being made to the title track ”Dame of Hearts”. The EP gets released in about 300 copies, sold out, re-released in 100 copies, sold out, and on and on and on….even to this day.
During the summer, the band gets some problems as Vixo quits the band. In desperate need for a new bass player, ParadoXX soon find themselves Riku (guitarist in Velvet Six) to play bass on the upcoming gigs. As the summer is over, he also quits the band. Dave the Grave now joins the band as a bass player.
2008, Back to the cold autumn night
It is now decided that the band will go a more dark and melancholic road, ParadoXX is after all a band from Finland, land of the thousand suicides. Ms. Foster spends one night alone in a cottage on the countryside writing songs by himself. The result is soon to be the ”Shitload of Misery” album.
2009, Back to the studio
An eleven song album is now being recorded, including a King Diamond cover and a song featuring Rock Fuel (which is also released as a split single on Halloween, which also marks the point for ParadoXX first acoustic gig). The album is released in January 2010, and gets very good reviews. During the summer the band plays a couple of gigs, and then goes for a well needed break from each other.
2010, Autumn of rehearsals
The band starts rehearsing again after a short break. New songs are being written and ParadoXX will once again make some horror-show... because, whether by knife or whether by gun, losing your life can still be fun.
