JMJ Urban Records is proud to present one of our first bright young independent soul artists: SABRINA VARGAS.
A pioneer of her time and the simple girl next door for many; Sabrina has given much sacrifice to living and breathing a challenging “independent music career”. It is certainly noted since the start of her accomplished music debute back in 1990. That Sabrina is still turning heads with her live performances and songs. When she was 17 years old; Sabrina was literally starting her career singing with many jazz, blues and R&B musicians in clubs; all of which were live music staples in Los Angeles. These veteran players had much to teach to Sabrina about the music and touring industry. Their words of wisdom helped Sabrina become deeply rooted in soul music and learning to hone her craft while nurturing her musical skills and increasing her business savvy all at the same time. Today Sabrina’s musical message is being delivered with a timeless meaning of her many struggles, and joys. She hopes that her message will be well received by all who listen. She is very humbled by the attention that her music has been blessed with recieving, and already looks forward to creating more records for her audiences to enjoy.
At twenty-one; after many mistakes, a few wrong turns, collaborative recording projects, night clubs and small hole in the wall bars. Sabrina grew tired and decided, “It’s time!” So with her brave move of independent “do it yourself” motivation and her guitar in one hand. Sabrina made one last trip to a local night spot with a few friends and was in hopes to find the missing link to a creative writing and producing team. There at this local night club; Sabrina heard this guitar player resonating soulful R&B chords through the back alley way of this night club. Then and there Sabrina knew just by listening. That she found her musical collaborative match, songwriter and producing partner as well as long time friend Danny J. Rodriguez. When they both met it was instant musical chemistry and friendship. Then when fate tooks it''s place, both Danny & Sabrina joined musical forces and now have a large variety of unreleased urban R&B material for many albums to come.
Ten years later today, Sabrina Vargas & Danny J. Rodriguez have produced and written Sabrina''s first self-titled release and solo project. On this album Sabrina expresses her life stories, adversities, desires, hardships, joys, and the rebirth of self love on this record. Well relatable are all 10 songs on Sabrina’s LP. Which touch on many human life subjects that the listener will find appealing. In this record Sabrina takes on many of her poetic lyrics and delivers a resonating soulful jazz and R&B filled vocal styling that is smooth and buttery. Sabrina’s hope for the future of the many records that are yet to be released, is simply to give more of her story telling songs, and continue conveying positive messages and hook-filled content for her audiences to sing and bobb their heads too.
