Small Enclosed Area have enjoyed many highlights since forming such as playing T’ in the Park, goNORTH, 2 UK tours with final gigs ending in London at The Bull & Gate and Underworld, releasing two EP’s ‘Quintana’ (released through Hackpen Records) and ‘Seventeen Whiskies’ (self-released), airplay on Radio 1, Radio Scotland, Beat 106 and Radio Celuido in Spain to name but a few.
The band started 2005 with the news that their track ‘Taste of India’ had been chosen for the Channel 4 Make Tracks CD which represented the cream of Highland & Islands talent (featuring artists such as Mylo, The Cinematics & Mull Historical Society) that was released on the cover of Musicweek magazine and at the Midem music conference at Cannes.
Notable performances in 2005 included playing at The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen, Stereo in Glasgow, John Peel Day in Inverness, The Keith Chaos Festival & The Honcho Mini-International Festival of Punk in Stornoway along with being picked from thousands of demos to perform at the T-Break finals at The Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh.
Most recently Small Enclosed Area did a live interview for Total Rock Radio and completed a series of dates around the North of Scotland.
Their album sessions recorded at Unity Studios near Inverness are the subject of various label interest which has included a recent an album and publishing deal offer and they will play to various interested parties as part of a UK tour this April.
In the meantime to cope with demand their EP “Seventeen Whiskies” is has had a limited edition second pressing of 500 copies after the original run of 1000 sold out during 2005.
