CHERYL JANZEN:

It''s no surprise that Cheryl chose the life path of a musician when she comes from a long line of gifted singers and players. She witnessed early on the joys that being able to sing and play an instrument could bring to one''s daily life. 3 of her 4 brothers and her father play guitar and sing and the other is a drummer.
At the tender age of 8, Cheryl chose the flute to be her vehicle of musical expression. She was a quick study and won many awards for her prowess. Her mother fancied her a church pianist and started her Royal Conservatory lessons at 11 years of age. Singing in her father''s Baptist church choir afforded her the opportunity to learn the art of harmonies and blending her powerful voice with others.

At the end of the show, Corey Parker ( Maceo''s son) approached Cheryl and said ,..."You''ve got the right stuff. Keep at it and you''ll make it."

STEVEN J. PARISH:

Steven J. Parish began drumming at an early age. By the time he was 17 he was studying privately with jazz great Frankie Dunlop and being mentored by the legendary Les Paul. Both of these experiences continue to influence his musical ideas.

Fusion with Mike Stern; Rock ''n'' Roll with “Smokin'' In the Boys Room” icon Cub Koda, Blues with Ellen McIllwayne, Free Improvisation with Anthony Braxton and Performance Art with the ground breaking Fluxus.

Taken as a whole these experiences have helped Mr. Parish interweave a myriad of styles into a musically dynamic, distinctive and personal voice. In the words of Anthony Braxton, Steven’s playing is “Sensitive man, sensitive.”

RICHARD KLEEF:

Guitarist Richard Kleef learned his first d chord at the age of 5. In his early years Richard was heavily influenced by artists such as Jeff Beck, Andy Summers and Radiohead. Richard discovered Johnny Marr on a Smiths record in his older brothers record collection which proved to be a turning point in his blossoming journey towards learning guitar.

The discovery of this inspirational new sound and a few stints with local bands fuelled Richards passion for playing live and the writing of original music. He joined forces with Bassist Arron Nelson in 2008 and together the two of them continued working on Nelsons new material for the follow up to The Arron Nelsons Projects first release “Anymore”. Richards smooth and sometimes haunting guitar parts added both a spice and a sweetness to the somewhat edgy material Nelson was already working on.

This new guitar sound was the beginning of the movement towards a more collaborative effort and with the addition of new Members Cheryl Jansen on keys and Steve Parish on drums the band Metamorphose was born. Considered one of the founding members, Richard has also contributed some of his own material to Metamorphose and continues to write and participate in ongoing collaborations with new members.
