Details:
It has been 5 years since Steve McClain’s last release, One Shoe On The Highway, and many things have changed. Now a permanent resident of the Nashville area, this album is different than any one of McClain’s three prior solo projects (Born In Captivity; 2001, lemonadestand; 2002 and One Shoe On The Highway; 2005). “To start with, in the past when had enough songs, we recorded an album,” Steve says. “But this time, we chose songs from many that were written over the last several years.” And both McClain and his co-producer, Jim Rieder, feel that it was worth the wait. “Good/Days” was recorded in Nashville by Shane Stephens at Sound of Mull Music and Jim Rieder at Suite Audio Sound Design in Cleveland, Ohio in 2010 and 2011. Rieder has worked with Stevie Nicks, Loggins and Messina and has scored countless independent films and television productions around the world (Discovery Channel, TLC and NatGeo). “This album is different than anything I’ve done before and would not have been possible without Jim,” McClain says.

Steve McClain is originally from Kent, Ohio and now resides in Nashville, TN. Since moving to Music City, he has provided music for television commercials, independent films and was an extra in the movie Country Strong with Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow and was also cast as an extra in the 3 Doors Down video for “When You’re Young.” McClain is constantly influenced by music and sound, but artists and writers like Lennon and McCartney, Elton John, John Mellencamp and Iron Maiden shaped his beginnings. Iron Maiden? “I’m a metal head from way back, but you’d never tell in my music.” Indeed, Steve McClain sounds much more like Bruce Hornsby than Bruce Dickinson, but these early influences are what give McClain his unique, edgy acoustic sound.

Nashville, Tennessee and Akron, Ohio should expect to see Steve McClain perform in support of Good/Days in 2011. He can also be seen on Random Acts of Music on Time Warner cable in Northeast Ohio (check https://www.tradebit.com for show times) and heard on local radio in Cleveland, Akron and Nashville and The Songwriter’s Network at https://www.tradebit.com.
