This song was the first song I (Jeremy) ever wrote on ukulele. I put the music together in one day (back in 2007) and then spent four years wrestling with the lyrics and three-part harmonies work (this version only has two of the three vocal lines).
Here''s how the chords came together: I was playing one night with my friend Abhijeet and he was playing this song by The Band that had a Bb chord and an A chord in them. Having taken a music theory course in college, I thought that he should have been playing a Bb chord with an *A minor* chord. However, it sounded interesting (and better!) playing it with the two major chords (perhaps this is why I should have taken more than one semester of theory). The next day, I tried writing something that kept this idea of two major chords right next to each other and the song just came together quickly from there.
