Ideofone is a 3 piece rock band out of Seattle, Washington. Drawing influences from a wide spectrum of artists such as Deftones, Zappa, Eminem, Rage Against The Machine, Bjork, and Portishead, they have carefully molded a style that is truly unique to themselves.
Ideofone, as of 2005, began when long time collaborators Brandon Bermudez and Reid Rohr met Ian McCarley through Candiria''s message board. They penned and arranged songs around concepts Brandon had formed between 2002-2005 and in 2006 they began recording their debut EP, Los Tres Pañales, which upon completion generated a healthy buzz in the Seattle/Tacoma music community. They have shared the stage with numerous well known acts such as Moonspell, Katatonia, Opiate for the Masses, Monster Monster, and the surviving members of Sublime.
They are currently recording a second EP and writing the final track for their second full length, the prog-metal opera Some Remarks on Ghosts; a project that''s already two years in the making. This ambitious album will prove to be their greatest accomplishment thus far blending progressive music with fusion, world, and electronica.
Their energetic and comedic live shows have been a fan favorite in Washington. The boys are currently planning a west coast trek in the summer/fall of 2011.
