The highly anticipated second album from California hard rock musician Pou Piam brings more of the high energy rock that fans have come to love, but with more depth than his first release at the young age of 16. From infectiously soaring melodies to anthemic heavy guitar riffs, multi-instrumentalist Pou Piam, now 20, showcases his musical growth with this second album, "On The Rocks".
From start to finish, the album is able to pull different emotions and feelings out of the listener making you anticipate each and every track. Songs like "My Middle Finger" and the first single "Medicine" are that same brand of up-tempo and raunchy, yet reel listeners and fans of all genres in with their unforgettable choruses. In contrast, tracks like "All''s Fear in Love and War" and "Don''t You Pray For Me" are a bit darker and more introspective.
This sophomore effort produced by Eric Corne and featuring the legendary Kenny Aronoff on drums, is a large step for Pou as an artist. "The new material is a lot more ''mature'' than the older stuff. Instead of aggression just for the sake of being aggressive, the new album has a lot more personality and depth to it, but it''s still tangible and raw enough to just pop in the car, roll down the windows and break the speed limit," says Pou.
