ABOUT THE PROJECT
It is with tremendous pride (and a good deal of nostalgia) that I release the 20th Anniversary Edition of "The Power of You."
This album of original music was inspired by the individual experiences of the song-writers as they navigated the hallways of junior high and high school. The common link between these musicians was their involvement with the Wisconsin Association of School Councils, Inc.
THE MESSAGE BEHIND THE MUSIC
As I turn back the clock twenty years I am amazed at what we were able to accomplish during the 1991-92 academic year; and I am extremely grateful for the support I received during the months it took to pull all the pieces together.
While each musician had their own reason for transforming their thoughts into music – the message behind "The Power of You" is a simple one: be who you want to be, experience life, and look to the future with optimism.
Personally, the experience of working on this project impacted me far more than any of the individual tracks. The positive energy created by the musicians allowed us to push past obstacles and helped us to enjoy the journey – not just the destination.
I am still in awe of the dedication and commitment the musicians, parents and teachers put towards this project two decades ago; and sincerely hope you enjoy the results of their talents and passions.
A special thank you to Anne Depies Blaedow for her initial investment in this project; she believed… and then I did.
