Details:
Daniel McDermott is an Irish composer, classical and jazz pianist, jazz and flamenco guitarist, DJ, producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist (10 instruments). Trained in classical composition, his music fuses different world music with jazz, classical, electronica and a modern production . A fractal is "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts” often seen in nature. This music represents the definition: fragmented genres and ideas, split into parts yet still part of the one beautiful shape.

1. Street Noir fuses Turkish/Spanish vocals with a ukulele part that builds and builds to a haunting " esbjorn svensson" style piano riff.

2. Paco unites Flamenco guitar/electronica with Turkish and Moorish influences. The final section calls to mind the minimalism of Steve Reich

3. Tick Tock takes a simple melodic saxophone line and spins it out against a rhodes and electronic beat.

4. Raindance is a jazz piano trio played against the backdrop of a thunderstorm

5. Just dust uses a "ennio morricone spaghetti western" vibe. Maybe the first track to fuse electronica with harmonica?

6. Cultural Wars melts together the dark avant-garde influences of John Zorn with Turkish Vocals.

7. Stars: A drum and bass track with live strings.

8. A short, simple beautiful track that condenses the disparate influences of the album.
