Beverly Lewis, singer, actress, author, composer, director, host, born in New York City, USA. Started singing at three years old. Daughter and niece of performers following her studies of classical music and Jazz, she has traveled the world to perform and promote music. While living in Italy she has performed with many Jazzmen including Gianni Basso, Franco Cerri, Lanza, Carlo Loffredo, Lanfranco Malaguti, Gegè Munari, Marcello Rosa, Giorgio Rosciglione, Gianni Sanjust, Puccio Sboto, Enzo Scoppa, Cicci Santucci, her musical director Antonello Vannucchi (since 1999), Jimmy Owens, Bobby Durham among others. Highlights with Vannucchi include the Ravenna Festival created by Maestro Riccardo Muti and the Eddie Lang Jazz Festival Winter Edition 2010.
Antonello Vannucchi, born in one of the seats of Italian culture in Lucca (home to music greats Puccini and Catalani, among others) presents together with born-in-NYC singer Beverly Lewis a unique salute to the late Nicola Arigliano by reprising a 1958 arrangement of AUTUMN IN NEW YORK. Joined by brilliant musicians who formed part of Nicola’s trio Elio Tatti on double bass and Giampaolo Ascolese on drums, this sophisticated track represents an imminent album release celebrating four great world cities. More on Antonello. During his fifty year career he has prominently figured in the music world, including the Quartet and Quintet of Lucca, RAI orchestra, MARC4 - among others. In his 2007 CD MY TURN, Vannucchi stepped forward as the protagonist in this impressive project. A versatile musician and music director, he plays piano, Hammond organ, vibraphone, marimba, and brings his unique expression to every song. Co-writer Beverly Lewis wrote the lyrics for the MY TURN songs and sang.
