Details:
NAME: Paul Buckberry (I prefer being called Buck)

DATE OF BIRTH: 25/6/69

EMPLOYMENT: I used to drive heavy vehicles for Tip Top Bakeries in NSW because I need the bread. They said I was doing a crummy job so I left. Now I don’t know what I’ll do for doh!

EDUCATION: Leaving Certificate (printed it myelf when I was 14)

SPORTS/HOBBIES: In High School I was opening bowler for the A team (I did all right), and during winter I played Aussie rules (first ruck). Since words & music took a hold of me I don''t play or even watch sport. So far as hobbies go, I love collecting 50s music on CD: From Little Richard to Fabian, Buddy Holly to Lesley Gore. I like reading Henry Miller, too. And trying to make kites fly on still days.

FAMILY: I have a daughter born in 1995 called Jessie-Mae. There''s a dog named Jane Russell whom I expect will die any day now. My Dad is in his 80s and a pain in the ass; Mum died in September 2003. I have one older sister named Samantha who never visits me.

WHO ARE YOUR HEROES AND WHY: Obvious names like Elvis, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Stones, Hendrix, The Ramones, Ryan Adams...people that affect public perception or at least have fun trying. I gotta lotta writer heroes too, Beat writers and Henry Miller.

DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC: Strange, jarring, story telling. It doesn''t always make sense. Amusing and/or interesting rather than entertaining.

WHAT IS YOUR MUSICAL EXPERIENCE: When I first picked up the guitar my first goal was to learn 12 songs. Once I knew those 12 songs I immediately went busking. From that moment on I learnt mainly from other buskers, other pickers and players that I''d meet while travelling around. In the early 90s I spent 8 months at The Sydney Guitar Institute studying classical guitar mainly for the discipline. It didn''t work. I still have none.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY: I''m definately bent.

HAVE YOU PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED MUSIC FESTIVALS? IF SO, WHEN AND IN WHAT CAPACITY: Many festivals, every state. At Tamworth I scalped tickets to a Katie Brianna concert. Emptied the bins at Golburn blues festival and operated the ferris wheel at Byron Bay.

DESCRIBE YOUR LAST TIME ON STAGE: It was all good. I was the opening act, got there a little early to assist the guys in getting the camera lighting and sound just right. No nerves, I was ready, quietly confident...just went on and sang my songs then went and opened the doors and let the crowds in. It was five minutes of my life that I''ll always remember fondly.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS: To die in my sleep.
