First inspired by sufi chants and dancing in 1970, RD (as he is commonly known) began leading kirtan in 1975, accompanying himself on drums, harmonium and guitar. In particular, since he is closely associated with the archetype of Hanuman (see the Ramayana for details), he regularly sings the 40 verse Hanuman Chalisa... and in this CD, offers it three times: once in minor key, once in major key, and once with an expanded enriched version that has James Jarvis and Carmen De Vida beautifully assisting. The other chants are all favorites of his as well... and were shared specifically with Divine Amma (Singapore) when she and her consort and husband Swamy Sam first visited the US in 2004.
