Joe Beier got his musical start with a guitar, some lessons from his dad, and a Fisher-Price tape
recorder. The life that followed has shaped itself around his passion for creating and performing
music, from honing his guitar technique at McNally Smith College of Music to producing music for
himself and others in his studio. He plays in multiple bands, has opened for a number of high profile
acts, and has performed across Europe.
Joe’s true passion lies in the composition and recording process and in creating art that hasn’t
existed before. He draws musical inspiration from a variety of sources: life situations, the artists he
admires, or simply the process of picking up a guitar and letting a melody or riff present itself.
“Not every song has a particular, deep meaning,” says Joe. “Sometimes while writing, I may get
inspired to take the song over the top and see how wild I can make it. I also like to explore while
writing to see if I can get back from a crazy place to the theme I was at. I hope the humor, emotion,
fun, and adventure in my music come through to the listener. I don’t always take my songs as seriously
as one might expect - especially the goofier or ultra dramatic ones. I do, however, take my craft and
career seriously, which I hope will be evident in the music.”
This rock album features symphonic compositions, intricate melodies, sweeping solos, and guitar
playing that goes from unbridled and explosive to gentle and emotive. Joe enjoys the variety. “One
of my favorite things to do with an electric guitar is to make strange noises and give the instrument
its own language. I also love catchy melodies and unique harmonies in music. Many of the songs on
this album have been floating around in my head for years, and some have gone through many, many
revisions. I’m excited to be able to finally share the finished product!”
