Details:
Denver''s Coyote Poets of the Universe present their fifth CD - ''Pandora''s Box'' - on their DIY label Square Shaped Records -
a collection of tunes reflecting Pandora''s Legend of love, loss, hope, and happiness.

Part of the music was recorded at the KUVO-FM Performance Studio in Denver, where bassist Andy O'' is a popular DJ, with KUVO''s own Joey Kloss doing great work recording a large group of musicians playing with sharp objects.
The rest was recorded and the project mastered at Gary Flori''s Sound Stream Studios in Arvada, Colorao.

The album was recorded during personnel changes over a two year period after singers Barb Barg and Lisa Zang left the band. The rest of the group continued compiling new material and those songs are here on Pandora''s Box.

''Pandora''s Box'', the title track, was written by Robert Maclean and Melissa Ingalls. Toad (aka Maclean) starts things off with humourous keyboard voices and the group swings into it''s gypsy overtones. Kelly O''Dea''s haunting violin is a dark and sweet counterpoint to Melissa''s powerful vocals.

''Spellbound'' is a love song and group composition with everyone working together in the composers chair. Melissa wrote the lyrics in under ten minutes with that great opening line.

''Raff Riff'' is an instrumental written by reed man jochanaan (John Rasmussen) with O''Dea working at a fever pitch on violin, the tune is heavily influenced by action music and prog rock.

The next track is a band favorite - ''History of the World''. Toad''s funky banjo is secretly driving the song with the bass and djembe. Patty Shaw''s crisp baritone has been an exciting addition to the band and you can hear why here.

''Cuando El Ray Nimrod'' is a sephardic hymn brought to the band''s attention by former member harpist Star Edwards, with fine solos by jochanaan on oboe, O''Dea on violin and Toad on banjo and mandolin, and powerful vocals by jochanaan and Melissa.

''Rescue'' is an inspirational poem written by O''Blivion and put to music by Andy, Toad and Melissa. The lead vocal is by Toad with warm solos by O''Dea, jochanaan, and Josie Quick.

''Blood and Bones'' tells the story of a woman who knows how to get what she wants. Written by Melissa and Andy, with incredible solos by violinist Josie Quick and Patty Shaw on baritone sax.

''Surrounded By Cobras'' relates a tale of murder and madness in the New Mexico desert. A dark story from Mark Busi and Andy O'', told by Andy.

''Vermilion Cliffs'' is an instrumental salute to the amazing geologic formations in southern Utah-northern Arizona.

''Solstice'' is our salute to the magic of the Winter Solstice, from the pen of Andy O.

''Quittin'' Time'' closes our story collection with a hard blues tale of bar room mayhem, with very adult language, and amazing musicianship.
