This CD was produced by Claude Diallo and co-produced by the Swiss Radio DRS in Zurich, Switzerland. The band was invited by the radio station to record in the famous DRS 2 Jazz studios in January 2010.
When I first met Andy McGhee in the lobby of Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2005, I would never have thought of all the things that would happen through this magical encounter. Shortly afterwards, seeing him perform at a tribute concert in Geneva, Switzerland, I dreamed of playing with him one day. Months later we met again and he jokingly asked when we''d be playing in Switzerland. I took him by his word and a set of events triggered a series of tours that have now led to this monumental recording.
I admire Andy McGhee''s youthful enrgy and the fact that he is still practicing every day and is eager to learn from his students and my generation of musicians. I am glad that I met Andy McGhee, who has become a very close friend of mine and my family over the years. I respect and admire all he has done in his life starting form his early work in the Korean War, his work with Lionel Hampton and Woody Hermann and of course his 40 year long teaching career at Berklee College of Music (where he still teaches today).
Over the years I visited Boston to play, practice, talk, learn and just hang with Andy McGhee and I am hopeful that there will be many years to experience such a great master of the Jazz language among us. I am thankful and honored that I had this opportunity and I am very proud of the result of our friendship and hard work.

Andy McGhee, who is performing mostly Jazz Standards on this recording is accompanied by New York based Swiss pianist Claude Diallo, who is leading the group Claude Diallo Situation with Massimo Buonanno from Switzerland on drums and Laurent Salzard from France on electric bass. Normally the band plays more original compositions and released two CDs "Traveling with Music" (2009) and "Now Then" (2010) and has a more modern approach to Jazz, but on this recording the Claude Diallo Situation shows its skills playing Jazz Standards and accompanying a great master of the last centuries Jazz history.
Also on this CD as bonus material can be heard a solo piano version of Bill Evan''s B Minor Waltz, which was recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition in which Claude Diallo made it to the Final Round in July 2009.
In addition to this there is a trio track from another live recording from the Tonhalle St. Gallen in Switzerland were the Claude Diallo Situation performed "Sail Away" by Tom Harrell.
