The Jasper le Clercq Quartet makes colourful music which always tells a story.
Playing in an unconventional line-up with electric violin, guitar, drums and keyboards/samples, this band creates a special sound.
Sometimes evoking an atmosphere of the past by using samples ‘from old times’, then again rocking like hell. You always will find different ways to listen to their music.
The leader of the band, Jasper le Clercq, is a lucky guy whose life is full of diverse musical activities. He tours around the world with the string quartet Zapp 4. (https://www.tradebit.com) As an improvising violinist he is a member of New Niks (https://www.tradebit.com); a high energy band that can really rock but also includes lots of (free) improvisation. With Jargon he floats in the no man’s land between improvisation and composition(https://www.tradebit.com). The often absurdistic animations of Kijkshock are accompanied by a brisk live band, and with poetess Tjitske Jansen he regularly plays his electric violin at festivals and literary evenings. As a composer and arranger Jasper writes with a lot of pleasure for all sorts of music and theatre projects.
