Details:
She was born on October18, 1991, in Toronto, Ontario. Not long after, at the tender age of 5, Sarah Tesfai was singing a song she heard playing in a movie. She sang not only a few lyrics, like other kids her age would, but the entire song, all the way through.  Days later, she was still singing those lyrics. She had learned the lyrics and the melody. And now, she owned them.
Recognizing she was in the midst of a child prodigy, Sarah’s mom kept a close eye on her as her talent blossomed.  As soon as she turned 12, her mom signed her up for voice lessons. Those lessons proved valuable as Sarah transformed into a very busy gifted singer. Soon she was performing the national anthem at her school, St Elizabeth Junior High in Calgary. She sang Christmas carols at church and was a regular at school talent shows.
But nothing compared to the standing ovation she received at her junior high school graduation. For her, it was the fitting send off for her to launch her singing career.
In the months of March and April of 2009, she continued her climb to the top by becoming one of the top 5 finalists in a Rising Star competition. In July, she boldly made an impression at the Stampede Talent Search and that same month she boarded a flight and landed in Chicago where she performed at a major soccer tournament.  The following month she returned to Chicago to perform at the star-studded Caribbean Festival at Union Park on August 9, 2009.
On September 12, 2009, she performed at the Opera House in Toronto for the first time as a headliner. Now in demand, whenever she gets the call, Sarah is ready to go.
For Sarah, now an R&B/pop entertainer, the opportunity to sing goes beyond just a huge dream.  It’s her passport to creating music that fans can relate to, records that make people feel good and songs that are fun and enjoyable. For instance, her latest song, ‘Automatic Girl,’ is three minutes and twenty- seven seconds of fun. It’s a nifty club song. In a flirty, sensuous voice she sings, “Got my own recipe/ And now I got a groupie….” It was written and produced by a budding young New York producer, Gram Moore. Sarah recorded eight songs with him in New York in May of 2009. The previous year in October she recorded another six songs in LA including, ’Where Were You,’ a ballad written by Sarah.
Sarah knows that to stay on top of the music business and to keep fans coming she has to keep on top of trends. This American Idol fan studies her craft well, with keen interest in music, singing and dancing competitions. Dancing is now a serious hobby as well as shopping as she studies the latest fashion. She doesn’t have a favourite designer but hip-hop clothing by Baby Phat, Enyce and Roca Wear do catch her eyes.
Even at her young age Sarah has identified some things she considers important like charities for kids, and especially education for our children who she believes will always represent the future. Any help extended to children will go a long way, she believes, and she admires those people who help them out. She is torn apart by children deprived of food, shelter, clothing and basic amenities.
Sarah enjoys listening and singing to songs that empower women. Maybe someday, this young R&B/pop entertainer will be the voice of millions of voiceless women and children all over the world who need their stories told and their dreams fulfilled.
