A seasoned performer and no stranger to the recording studio, Roderick Newport felt it was time to share his country roots with the rest of the world.
After releasing his debut album “Back Home”, Roderick had success being played on Indie radio stations as well as ClassX Radio, a popular mainstream station in his home town of Cincinnati, Ohio. Bob Michaels, morning DJ on ClassX, said “Spinning Around the Sun is one of our most popular new songs on ClassX and a personal favorite.”
Releasing his newest country cd titled “Walking Away” is just the latest highlight for Roderick in a career that hasn’t reached its plateau; and he looks forward to continued support from his ever growing fanbase.
In a time when DIY seems to be the norm for musicians and songwriters, Roderick (or Rod Newport as called by close family and friends) doesn’t stray from this self produced concept at all. By playing, producing and recording all the material on his cd, Roderick really has something he can call his own.
Roderick will be joined live by his life long friend Michael Allard on guitar as well as his step-son Kyle Caldwell on bass. TJ Stenger will take his place behind the drums to round out this energetic and versatile band.
Roderick said in a recent interview “It sounds cliché, but music is my life and I thank God for my talent and my wife for the needed push. I hope you enjoy listening to these songs as much as I have bringing them to you.”
