Chanel Velasco entered the world with a drive to create poetic lyrics, a passion for music, and a deep love for the art of song in her blood. “I can’t remember a moment where I haven’t been creating through music. Growing up, I was always making up melodies and singing them; performing what I create is God’s greatest blessing,” says the seventeen year old. “Throughout my rough patches in life, music gave me solace and I want anyone who listens to my music to take this notion with them: if you believe in yourself anything can be accomplished… The art of music changed my life and I can only hope to give others the same through what I’ve experienced.”
The Southern California native stands to show that the dream has to start with the drive. A dream that was planted and has grown with that same drive. There is no end to her path; Chanel strives to make a difference: boldly taking creative matters into her own hands. Chanel Velasco lives in Southern California with her parents and four younger siblings. She is currently a senior at a Performing Arts high school.

“Look Again…” is a record that encompasses raw emotion: the result of profound experience. The five-track EP, a mixture of Latin and R&B fusion with pop/rock grooves, opens by pulling its audience into the sensuality and playfulness of the bilingual, salsa driven “Dámelo”. “Perfection” showcases a philosophical outlook on a worldly interpretation of life lived…even loved gained. The soulful sound that embraces the romantic, sultry edge that is “Love Affair”, gives way the profound vocal message that births “Eternal Love (My Wish)”. And then there is “Good”, an acoustic outpour: Chanel’s dynamic vocals and lyrics pull every string of soul and prove that simplicity is one of the deepest assurances.
