As it turns out, The Vapor Lounge: Volume One is one uplifting compilation. Most Chill Slackmob’s thunderous opener, entitled Epicenter, definitely sets the undertone pulsing like a heartbeat-or an earthquake, whichever you choose. Then, things get a bit “mellow-choly funky” with Dubmarine’s Want You Back. A gifted wordsmith by the name of Sekou bobs and weaves his way throughout a quick look at a day in the life in Proverbs. The bass and irony heavy Moving to California by Swedish Mafia proves to be quite the listening experience along with Me and PD by Kyle Buller. Soldiers by Dusa Caditrack brings the stripped down essence of reggae into the fold, and ShayMoShan pumps it up a little with the sensual dance record Wanna Play.
Having these gifted artists come together for a common cause was an amazing experience.
