Ummm...ever had a chalice of warm java jazz...
with a pinch of blue''s cream...sweetened with brown rhythm?
Nooooo?
Then you have not heard VEEDA.

10 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Jazz Vocals, URBAN/R&B: Rhythm & Blues

Details:
With strong vocal spices of Chaka, the erotic smoothness of Sade and articulate breath of Ella, VEEDA (age 27), has an impeccable style that is long anticipated. Born a "Mack" diva, with powerhouse vocals, VEEDA''s original music will cause you to tune your ear to the smoothness of perfect pitch in the key of Jazzy erotic "E". Many accolade her sound as an "R&B/jazz refined gumbo" that flourishes into a dynamic eccentric resonance that undoubtedly classifies her as a contemporary urban stylist.

With the debut of her CD, Love''s Anatomy, VEEDA''s interpretion of standards like Inner City Blues (Makes Me Wanna Holler/Marvin Gaye) and lyrical dedicational revision of Mr."Grover" Magic/Grover Washington, both songs will "make you wanna" dance as well as remember the best from late and great artists of the past. The CD, also reveals her excellent penmanship of profound lyrics and melodic structures delivered in her incredible flexible alto range and rich timbre in her originals, Love''s Anatomy, Young Mothers, Jessel''s Song and So Ya'' Say. The CD absolutely promises a little something for every ear, regardless of age.

As one fan recently stated in an email, "VEEDA has a gift. It is almost as if a spirit comes straight from above out of her mouth. It is difficult to explain. But, I could hear something other than the lyrics and music … there is just this feeling."

With performances that include saxophonist Paul Taylor (CIAA/2006/DDT Entertainment), THE SAX PACK/2006 Concert (Kim Waters, Marion Meadows & Jeff Kashiwa), Jazz in the Park sponsored by the Durham City''s Parks and Recreation Department, Soul Cafe'' (NYC), The Bimbe'', Radio One “Live at City View” Sponsored by "The Quiet Storm"/DJ LOLO/95.5 FM in Baltimore, MD, Triangle-Triad Black Entertainment & Sports (TRIBES) Magazine Kicks Off Event, private corporate parties, weddings and other jazz and R&B venues, Veeda continues to pass the sounds of long-over-due “good music" on.

VEEDA''s inherent of a natural vocal ability includes operatic vocal technique classes, in addition, she plays piano. Veeda has worked with some of the best in the business - Grammy Songwriter Pam Sawyer (Love Hangover by Diana Ross), Grammy Songwriter Darryl Roberts (Same Ole'' Love by Anita Baker), Omar Hakim (Sting), William "Spaceman" Patterson, (Falling by Alicia Keys).

Southern raised and born in North Carolina, VEEDA grew up surrounded by a family of exceptional southern vocalists as well as excellent musicians. With her mother''s experience as a lead vocalist/co-manager of a east coast road band (RISSE) for 26 years, VEEDA''s career has taken on a steady pace of growth in her retro R&B/neo-soul/jazz genre. In addition, she was one of the finalist in GIMME THE MIKE/2005 (sponsored by FOX/50).

Her musical fortes are Ella Fitzgerald, Sade, Chaka Kahn, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, George Benson, Abby Lincoln, Billie Holiday, Mary J. Blidge, John Legend, Jill Scott, Will Downing, and Durham''s own international recording artists Nnenna Freelon and Eve Cornelius.
