So Glad I Made It is the story of Roger Salloom, a quirky Bob Dylan-type singer songwriter, as he tries to revive his career after giving up on the music busineess for 20 years. Salloom, who as leader of the 1960''s psychedelic rock band Salloom, Sinclair, and the Mother Bear shared the stage at San Francisco''s legendary Fillmore and Avalon Ballrooms with Santana, Van Morrison, Procol Harum, and others, released a critically acclaimed record The Chicago Tribune named its "Top Album of 1968." But commercial success failed to match Salloom''s promise. Now, as Salloom is trying again, the music business has changed--more cutthroat and infatuated with adolescent pop stars.
The Recording Academy put the So Glad I Made It soundtrack on the 2005 GRAMMY Awards ballot for "Best Soundtrack for a Motion Picture." The film has won six top film festival awards.
