In addition to her full time speaking, writing and singing ministry, Shawna also works with her husband, Steve Bryant, who owns Bryant Productions a film, television and audio production company in Clovis, California. However, her most important job is raising their two children
From the age of 17, Shawna Marie knew without a shadow of doubt the Lord had placed a call on her life. Since music was her heartbeat, she assumed He would lead her to full time music ministry after high school. Instead she attended a 4-year university and later began a career in advertising. But God had a plan. After graduating from college in 1984, Shawna''s first full time job was singing professionally...in a nightclub! God used that year in her young life to teach many things. She later settled down into a "real" job, but God''s plan still included music, so she began presenting Christian concerts at churches, women''s events, youth happenings, even juvenile hall assemblies. God''s plan was good! The handsome and talented drummer Shawna met while singing professionally was an accomplished sound engineer. Steve Bryant became the technician and manager of Shawna''s concert ministry, and in January 1987 he became her husband. Shawna''s musical style appeals to a wide range of ages, and she''s sees every concert as an opportunity to draw near to God so He will draw near to us.
When Shawna Marie first led worship for a retreat back in 1994, she stepped way out of her comfort zone. For years she had performed concerts to large audiences ABOUT God with confidence, but singing TO God while guiding any size congregation terrified her! She admitted her weakness and asked God to take over. Within two years Shawna began serving weekly as worship leader for a local church, and often traveled to retreats, camps and conferences. At one such retreat a pastor''s wife asked if Shawna gave workshops on worship leading. Then in January 2002 she taught that very subject across the continent in Ontario, Canada! One of her favorite sayings is "God doesn''t always call the equipped, but He always equips the called." Shawna loves the old hymns of the church as well as the praise & worship choruses of today, and you will love the spirit of worship ushered in by Shawna''s leading. In addition to this project, Shawna Marie has also released two CD''s of Praise and Worship Music with plans for two more in a series called Worship From the Well.
