Matt''s passion for music began as a 5 year old playing drums at his home in Massachusetts. In a band by age 13 playing the nightclubs he was hooked and knew music would become his life.
Throughout his teens Matt''s love affair with music blossomed as he sang in the church choir, played in the high school band and got a taste for the theatre in a production of "Tell It Like It Is". Upon graduating high school, Matt attended Berklee College of Music and then devoted all of his time to performing live. Honing his skills as a writer and player (Matt plays all his own instruments), Matt released his debut album Can''t Stop the Rain in 1997 with much awaited anticipation and catching the attention and praise of well respected musicians such as John Cafferty and Anne Murray. Matt has opened for Anne during numerous concerts throughout New England and performed on stage with John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band.
In a musical landscape increasingly populated with one-hit wonders and pre-fabricated artists, Matt Bernier continues to re-invent himself yet remaining all the while an all too rare phenomenon - genuine entertainment.
