Details:
Samuel S. Singleton, Jr., like many other well-known entertainers of the past and present, began singing at an early age. At the age of 10, he began performing in church with his mother. His father, an African Methodist Episcopal minister, was known as the “singing minister.”

Sam sang in choruses throughout his school years and enjoyed an outstanding athletic career in high school, where he gained All-State and Honorable Mention High School All-American in Basketball and Track. He won an athletic scholarship to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he led the basketball team in scoring and rebounding for four seasons and was voted three-time All-Conference and Honorable Mention Small College All-American. Sam was a third-round draft choice of the Seattle Supersonics and after a short stint was farmed out to the Eastern Professional Basketball league where he had a stellar career.

While attending the University of Nebraska, Sam performed with local bands in concerts and on television. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Education, Sam returned to New Jersey where he worked for General Public Utilities (GPU) for 15 years. Later he worked as Executive Director for Morristown Neighborhood House Association, a community-based program for 10 years. While working there he earned a Master’s of Arts Degree from Central Michigan University. Recently, he served as Executive Director of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club in New York City. All during this time, Sam worked as a part-time promoter and entertainer all over the eastern seaboard.

Sam is the President and CEO of SSS of South Carolina, Inc. which produces live concerts featuring performers of local, national and international renown. His live show, “A Quiet Storm,” is an evening of love songs and has received rave reviews. He commands the audience through his provocative, lyrical style and interaction with his audience.

Although his career has led him in many directions, music is Sam’s life! He has performed throughout the United States. In 1989, he released his first CD, “I’ve Been Gone Too Long,” and an inspirational album of original songs written with the voices of his sister, Sandra Singleton-Barnhardt, and tenor, Tyrone Dunlap. The singers toured throughout the region, with the CD, performing in various churches.

In 1997, Sam released "Songs of Love" an album of contemporary ballads and an original tune entitled “My Child,” performed with his sister and dedicated to his niece, Noelle. This project developed from a desire to record beautiful songs that appeal to the 45-and older crowd. His vocal style has been described as a blend of Arthur Prysock, Billy Eckstine, Isaac Hayes, and Will Downing. In 2005, Sam recorded his latest CD, “Midnight Love Songs”. This extraordinary balladeer sings songs of love that reflect an understanding of commitment.

After a long and successful professional career in non-profit management, Sam has decided to concentrate all of his efforts in the areas of promotion and entertainment. This is an exciting time for him and he is confident that his company can provide your entertainment needs.
