Blind Shame is a young, high-energy modern-rock band from Detroit that delivers cranium-etching leads over fuzzy guitar riffs, alongside infectious lyrics released with genuine enthusiasm. Rhythm guitarist, Jay Arnold, perfectly compliments a solid lead- adding essential texture, while bassist, Joe Skowronek, holds down the low-end and fills in gaps with his monstrous tone without overshadowing the band''s melodic sound.
Front man, Shane Douglas, covers a full-spectrum of tones ranging from demanding, throaty, gut-wrenching lead, to half-pleading, half-breathing sincerity. Lyrics about seizing the moment, following your impulses, and introspecting on past relationships are occasionally filled with neurotic witticism. Such is the case with "Get It", a song involving an act that only a cunning linguist would appreciate. Accompanying Douglas'' strong vocals, lead guitarist Chad Goklani brings in frequent smooth harmonies and the occasional dual-lead vocal assault with a punk attitude.
Drawing influences from an unlimited source of rock, punk, and emo bands, Blind Shame has developed a distinct sound that exemplifies modern rock radio. With countless shows since their inception in 2003, this well-seasoned, yet fresh, young band is sure to hook listeners with a performance that is both musically and visually unforgettable.
