Since its release in 2000, this CD has become somewhat of a classic; frequently loaned between families and educators (and not always making it back to the loaner)! The songs touch on a variety of endangered species issues with an emphasis on what people are doing to protect them and why.
While "Living In a Wetland" and "Send Them Back Home to Brazil (The Fire Ant Song)" are hugely popular, the title track is still Lucas'' calling card.
Two of San Antonio''s finest producers (Jerry Fuentes from the JFJ Band and C.J. from FOS) gave the songs a modern, professional sound. The songs are performed in a variety of styles including Tejano, rap, surf-rock, funk and all-out rock ''n'' roll!
Winner of a Parents'' Choice "Recommended" award (fall, 2000). Lucas Miller is somewhat of a rarity among "children''s musicians" in that he is best with elementary age students rather than preschoolers. His hysterical lyrics are right up the alley of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and they go nuts over this disc.
