MP3 Meg Baier - Love Lies Bleeding

If pop had dreads and lived in the forest. The sound of Ani DiFranco and Ben Gibbard’s distracted and dream-filled child. Brainy and brave raw indie-pop with killer vocals to boot.

What I Say:
Hippy, dream, Vegas, tingling, shiny, sparkling, whimsical, ivy, whiskey, roses, tears, enlightenment, dusk, buzz, chances, love, lust, loss, twisting, rain, glitter, grey, purple, blue and a splash of pink too.

The Latest: Meg has safely returned from her first unforgettable tour of the Western United States, promoting her self-released LP, “Love Lies Bleeding”. The tour took place in the blistery month of December 2006, and was one of the longest, most spontaneous, difficult and amazing months of her life. Fellow singer/songwriter Kim DeLacy joined Meg for the tour, and together they whisked across the states sharing their music with the masses. Some of the venues they performed at are Hotel Café (Los Angeles), Dreamstreet (San Diego), The Phix (Phoenix), Kilby Court (Salt Lake City), and The Conor Byrne Pub (Seattle).

Previously: She received a degree in music from CSULA in 2004, and has since been wildly focused on all things in and around her music. After finishing school, Meg moved to Sedona, AZ where a small independent label joined forces with her to create Meg''s first full length record. Meg had over 200 songs to sift through, but that was the simple part. Label drama and a relationship gone bad kept Meg from finishing that record, and she found herself having to buy her way out of the contracts in order to avoid some possible devastation in the future.
With one record deal, two managers, 3 bands, and hundreds of songs lying in ruins, Meg decided to start over and moved to the Utopia of the Northwest: Portland, OR. It was there that Meg began to truly pursue her dreams, and she became a bona fide DIY artist. Meg finished her first record within the first 6 months of being in Oregon. She used every resource she had to create the sound of her album, including special appearances by Matt Sheehy, Kim DeLacy, Samina Ahmed, and Hannah Dibble.
She recorded and produced 100% of her new record, using guitars, keyboards, tambourines, recorders, gadgets, gizmos and computer technology! The end result is her own “daydream” sound, that she is crafting and honing one song and show at a time.
