The name Peepshow has always generated some controversy. It’s either loved or hated a name that seems to stick in the back of people’s minds. When we play a venue for the first time, people actually think they have heard of us. “It’s great, we always seem to really connect with the audience...” –Brian Armstrong. On the other hand, try doing a search for the band on the internet and see where that takes you! Whether you like the name or not, it seems to create an interest…and that’s what we are going for. “…No press is bad press right?”

We’re a Rock Band that came together in January of 2002. We emphasize strong melodic vocals, dynamics, and powerful guitars. Brian Armstrong has one of those voices that grabs you and pulls you in. He has the ability to make you want to listen to what he is saying; his lyrics are filled with personal growth that many can relate too. Add in the vocal harmonies of Bobby Lohnes and the combination of him and Brian together sound as one voice. The two of them have worked in projects for over 10 years now and Bobby really knows how to blend his voice with Brian’s. Keith Norton writes music that combines rich tones, hooks, and melodic textures. His singing guitar solos resonate with passion and intensity that bring back the past. Jason Shavey’s bass lines have melody and movement that really bring out Brian’s vocals. “If Jason wasn’t so good at bass I’d think he was trying to take my job!” –Keith Norton. Thomas Nadeau''s drumming is crucial to the Peepshow sound. He understands songwriting and knows how to build intensity when needed, and his infectious fun personality shows through in his playing. Dane Brooks is our most recent ingredient. His edgy guitar rhythm brings a fresh new dimension to the band that keeps Peepshow moving forward.

Producer, and friend, Scott Olson (Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Heart, and Alice in Chains) produced our debut album Guilty Pleasure, released on November 16th, 2002. We had our CD release party at Seattle’s oldest rock club, The Central Saloon, to an over capacity, record-breaking crowd. The album spent the next seven weeks in the top ten of the Seattle Stranger’s Northwest Top 20 Album Sales charts. Our first single “Train” shot to number 2 in the General Rock Category on https://www.tradebit.com. “Train” also won https://www.tradebit.com Grammies for Best New Artist, Best Male Vocalist, Best Song, as well as Best Production.

Once we released Guilty Pleasure it caught the eye of Budweiser and EMI Marketing Group. We were signed to the Budweiser True Music Live program in March of 2003. Due to our association with The King of Beers we’ve been asked to share the stage with national acts such as Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts (ex Candlebox front man), and Default. In November 2003 we appeared live on the popular KISS 106.1 FM Jackie and Bender morning show. We performed acoustic tracks “Train”, and “Bring Me Down” to help promote their yearly Jingle Bell Bash at the Tacoma Dome where we played for well over 10,000 people. Opening for Grammy winning Michelle Branch, American Idol Favorite Clay Aiken, pop-punk rockers Simple Plan and All-American Rejects, Caribbean sensation Sean Paul and urban dancehall act Black Eyed Peas. And if that wasn’t enough, Jackie and Bender asked us to co-host their season finale show on December 19th. Since then we have been asked back on many occasions. Our appearances on KISS 106.1 have led to other performances on sister station KZOK 102.5 FM with Bob Rivers morning show. In addition, the band was invited to host the Mandatory Metallica show on local rock station KISW 99.9 FM with popular radio personality Ricker.

In July 2006 Peepshow participated in the Bon Jovi, Saturn, and AEG Live competition in which they were chosen out of hundreds of bands across the United States to be 1 of 9 that had the chance to open up for Bon Jovi and Nickleback on their 2006 stadium tour in which Peepshow was chosen to open up the July 27th 06 show at Gillette Stadium home of the New England Patriots in Boston.

All the success and exposure that we received from our freshmen album Guilty Pleasure was incredible. With the dedication to the forthcoming album Innocence, Peepshow comes full circle. “It’s been one hell of a roller coaster ride, and a long time coming!” –Jason Shavey. With all of our efforts to this point, if you ask someone in Seattle if they’ve heard of Peepshow, it’s very likely that they’d say… “Peepshow rocks.”
