Welcome!
Thanks for coming over.
PLYMOUTH ROCK, the lst American Rock Opera, is a two hour musical entertainment written to be performed before a live audience.
The show premiered in the last century, presenting its first performances during October, 1971, at a rock concert hall called Earth, once located in Pacific Beach, California. The original review by theatre critic Welton Jones appeared in the San Diego Union on Friday, October 22nd.
The music tracks used in this recording were created in 1976, when a full production of the show was presented as part of the American Bi-Centennial Celebration at Southwestern Jr. College in Chula Vista, California.
In 1978, another complete production of PLYMOUTH ROCK took place at the Orono Ensemble Community Theatre in Maple Plains, Minnesota.
Thirty years later, the only existing copies of the 1976 music tracks were discovered in a dilapidated cardbord box, found while cleaning out the clutter of the author''s garage. We had unearthed a buried treasure. Over the next several months, the fading analog recordings were digitally restored. A few friends were invited into the studio to provide the vocals.
(Imagine the rock opera performed as a presentation,
in the style of a Shakespearian play, c. 1620.)
