Details:
Since launching his country music career only three years ago, Mark Scott has made enough noise in the Georgia music scene to be heard all the way up in Nashville. Scott''s music from this debut CD has been heard on a variety of radio stations and the single from the CD, "Crossing that County Line," will be included in an upcoming film.

He and his band, County Line, regularly play major shows and festivals, including opening for Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers and headlining a major July 4th event, and they regularly play live remote broadcasts with two of Georgia''s largest country radio stations, Eagle 106.7 and Kicks 101.5.

Scott''s success in music has earned him status as a voting member of the Country Music Association (CMA) and the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences (the Grammy organization) and the opportunity to meet some of his own country music idols, including Mark Wills, Phil Vassar and Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush of Sugarland. "County Line" was also nominated for CD of the year in 2005 by https://www.tradebit.com, one of the top independent country music web sites in the United States.

MARK SCOTT on...

...Launching a music career after establishing a career in corporate marketing...

"I''d always loved music but was never comfortable or confident enough to sing in front of people. Then about three years ago, two good friends joined the Navy and that got me thinking about my own dreams and what kind of legacy I would leave. I started focusing on music as one of those things I really wanted to explore and realized I didn''t want to be 75 years old one day and wonder what would have happened if I didn''t take this shot. I started taking singing lessons, started networking in the Atlanta music scene, doing open mic nights... and one step led to another..."

...Music goals...

"For now, my goals are to keep playing out with my band, County Line, and building a fan base. Longer term, my bigger goals are to win a Country Music Association ''Horizon'' award, play the Fox Theater, sing the national anthem at Turner Field and play a USO concert on the deck of an aircraft carrier."

...On performing live...

"When I first started with open mic nights, I was a little nervous. As the crowds started getting larger, I thought I''d get more nervous, but realized that performing live is like swimming: no matter how deep the water, if you know how to do it, you''ll be fine. Now weather it''s 10 people or 100, I just love performing. Of course, the bigger the crowds, the better the atmosphere and the more energizing the experience for everyone."

... Influences...

"Tim McGraw, Phil Vassar, John Berry and Lonestar are some of the male artists and groups I admire the most. I''d also love to do duets with Sara Evans, Alison Krauss, Jo Dee Messina or LeAnne Rimes. I like songs that offer positive messages, that take the listener somewhere and that express universal themes. Those ideas very much influenced the songs I wrote for the CD and the others that I selected."

... On show business...

"They call it ''Show Business'' because it''s just that...a business. I approached this just as I would any project in marketing at HomeBanc. I built a plan and set goals, did my research, worked to get the best people around me and then worked to achieve the goals. Everything hasn''t happened exactly as planned, but on the whole I''m on the path I planned and working within the time frames I had expected."

... On the future...

"I''m not giving up my day job just yet. I''m blessed to work for a company like HomeBanc that gives me the ability to be as professionally successful as I''ve become while also pursuing this dream. I have a great, rewarding career in marketing. Now... if the opportunity to go out on tour arises, I''ll cross that bridge when I get to it."
