MP3 Sharon E. Streeter - George & Dick
Spirited, irreverent, thigh-slapping original tunes with vocals, ukulele and kazoo—political satire on George & Company.
19 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Power-folk, COUNTRY: Country Pop
If you can’t beat ‘em, laugh at ‘em. That’s my motto when it comes to george w bush and company. I’ve evolved from poet to singer to songwriter, and it’s all about george.
george’s pop-up book
If you missed it, that’s what he claims he will write in his post-presidential years. When he’s not roping cattle or chopping down trees, that is. A pop-up book for a man who has failed the hurricane victims of Katrina, failed the families of soldiers sent to Iraq, failed the soldiers and veterans, and failed America by turning her credibility to zero. The pop-up book president has overseen the murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Iraq, and it’s all in our name.
The song “My President” speaks to that business. Whether I voted for him or not, he’s still the president of the United States of America, and will continue to do harm so long as he finds an audience. I have started a new campaign: no air for george. Here’s how it works:
JOIN THE CAMPAIGN!!
Do you remember the first drums of war?
How we “lost” in 2000, and again in ‘04?
The agenda was set, and we pay the price:
Fool us once? Fool us twice? Fool us thrice?
join the campaign no air* for george
this president lies to his people
he should be impeached
he should be tried for war crimes
and he should be forbidden access to radio
TV and the internet
no air for george
join the campaign to defrock and expose this president
I solemnly pledge that from this day forward
I shall do everything in my power to strip the name
of george w bush of capitalization and punctuation
and no air for george
*no air time
In short, I’m pissed. And a little bit worried about the election of 2008. Since 2002 I have evolved from a humble poet to a not-so-humble ukulele-toting singer/songwriter. So, come on along, tap your toes and snap your fingers to george & dick THE CD, and help America find someone competent, decent, and hardworking to pull us out of the muck and mire. Just say no to george & dick!
By the way, george & dick THE BOOK will soon be available at https://www.tradebit.com. The book will feature nationally syndicated cartoons, my newest poems and songs, and the LYRICS AND CHORDS FOR SINGING AND PLAYING ALONG on george & dick THE CD! Watch for it!

I never imagined myself as a protesting, ukulele-swinging activist. That all changed when george took office. When we have finally ousted bush and company, I shall return to poetry and songs of a different nature. #
