Details:
“Salt Peanuts, Salt Peanuts”
Sybil began in music at the tender age of six, when she would peek out her bedroom window in the early morning hours. As she did so she would harmonize with the Neville Brothers as they sang and walked by going home from their gigs about New Orleans. She did not really know who they were, just her neighbors, but she knew she loved to make music with them. Being born and growing up in New Orlean''s Garden District gave her exposure and opportunity to work with musical legends such as Henry Butler, Willie Metcalf, James Booker, Jesse Hill, Deacon John..... It was an established rule that if she kept her grades up she could go down to Rosy''s on Tchopitoulas Street to see Professor Longhair on Tuesday evenings.
On reaching her teens Sybil would begin to spend time in Chicago with her father Dr. John Mack. This allowed her to experience, meet, and perform with some of Chicago''s great musical talents. By way of Dr. Mack, “The Daddy” she was introduced to among others, Oscar Brown Jr. who continues to influence her musical poetry, humor, song style, and stage presence.
From New Orleans and Chicago the next progression would be to New York City. Here she would realize many musical visions. She says this was one of her most prolific song writing periods. For all this she would still find time to study and receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from New York University. Graduating with a Deli Sandwich in hand, son Jay in her belly, and of course Spike Lee et. al. From memories of Eddie Murphy, Nipsey Russell, and so many in the city''s art and entertainment world, she cherishes her correspondence with Gregory Hines. His advice and kind encouragement kept her focused on music and not the vagaries of “The Big City” Sybil toured the Jazz Clubs of NYC, Queens, Long Island, and the northeast with Big Bands. Veteran musicians who gave her entree to a glorious musical experience. This time would also see her perform with “The Drifters and Terry King”
Her writing and compositions continue to flourish and mature as her performances remain vital and young.

Her album “Busking Allowed – Sybil Sings!” brings together originals, Standards, and her hits “Sigh” and “I''m Over Here”.

"RED" Sybil''s latest album continues the tradition of a great artist delivering powerful performances of unforgetable material
