Details:
THE WELL is a new and exciting worship band from Ocala, FL. Their songs have risen out of affection for God’s Word and a desire to minister to the church through music. THE WELL draws upon personal reflection upon Scripture to pen original music and draws upon the rich lyrical tradition of the Church as they incorporate traditional hymns with new melodies to fit today’s worship. With a sound that evokes Counting Crows and Coldplay as well as Caedmon’s Call and Chris Tomlin, THE WELL is all at once familiar and refreshing.

THE WELL had its start three years ago when two friends began writing songs together. In the two years that followed, Aaron Angstrom and Steve Germany wrote and collaborated on what would become their first album of praise and worship songs. “Aaron and I sat down together and the first song we finished happened to be Lord, Let Us Come,” said Steve Germany. It is fitting that their full-length self-titled debut begins with that song. “It makes sense,” said Aaron, “that our first album would be a praise and worship album. We both work as worship leaders in the church. The songs flowed naturally out of our calling and ministry.”

When Aaron’s church hosted Andrew Peterson’s Behold the Lamb of God Tour, Aaron mentioned to Andrew Osenga, solo artist and member of Caedmon’s Call, that he and Steve had written a collection of songs. Osenga was brought on to co-produce THE WELL and he is featured on the song No Other Love. Other artists include long-time Jars of Clay bassist Aaron Sands, drummer Paul Eckberg (Amy Grant, Mark Schultz, Andrew Peterson), and guest vocalist Jill Phillips on The Lord’s Prayer. THE WELL also enlisted the help of Jars of Clay member Matt Odmark to master the album and producer/engineer Stephen Gause to mix it.

THE WELL is currently performing in support of their debut album. THE WELL now features a full lineup of talented musicians. “We always knew that THE WELL would grow to be bigger than just the two of us,” said Aaron. “Living and working in community is a big part of who we are.” THE WELL features teenage guitar prodigy Jordan Garno, founding members of world-touring hardcore band Seventh Star: mandolin player Mike Whitaker and drummer Shawn Douglas, bassist Fletcher Yancy of nationally-touring punk band TED, and percussionist David Germany. It is this blend of diverse and talented musicians that gives THE WELL its unique sound.
